22 Sep Part 3: Share content securely with Google Drive for Work
All your work, safe, everywhere and available anywhere you go.
Welcome to our three part series which explores how Google Drive for Work can transform your days work, your business and your organisation.
Tired of juggling USB sticks, DVDs and file transfer sites to share information with people both inside and outside of your organisation? Google Drive for Work makes light work of file sharing, with unlimited storage for all your files, and options for who you share your data with and how you share it.
With truly unlimited storage, you will always have a place to store your files, which can be accessed anywhere and everywhere. This is particularly handy when you have a large file to share with someone outside of your organisation and you are unsure of the best way to transfer it there securely. Google Drive for Work lets you generate a link for a folder or file, which you can share with colleagues, customers and suppliers, to give them access to your specified data. There are several options which allow you to control who can see your information. Share publicly on the web, allow only those with the link to view, or specify certain contacts who can access the file.
To share with colleagues who are already using Google Drive, you can start to type their names and retrieve their details from your contacts, and set user permissions. Define whether you want to allow people to edit, comment or view.
When you share a file or folder, you can choose whether to alert someone by email that the document has been shared with them. Alternatively, you can use the document link to share in your own email, if you would like to share the link as part of a personalised message.
At any one time, you can share a file size up to 5TB, and when sharing files, your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
