04 Sep Using Action Labels in Gmail
Struggling to organise the mountains of mail in your inbox? Why not create “Action” and “Awaiting Response” labels to organise your incoming mail. This will then create easily accessible “To Do” and “To Chase” lists.
To get started, firstly you will need to create your new labels.
Then, you will need to set up filters to make sure the important mail that requires action is redirected to the right label. To set up your filter, go to the search bar in Gmail and click the arrow to open the drop down menu. Select the criteria you want to use to filter your mail into the labels, such as project date, sender or keywords. Then, hit ‘Create filter with this search’.
On the following screen, you need to select ‘Apply the label’ and click on “Action” or “Awaiting response” depending on which label filter you are setting up. Click ‘Create filter’ and you’re all set!
Alternatively, you can apply these labels to organise your incoming mail.
