16 Oct How to eject a participant in Google Hangouts

One of Google Hangouts new features includes the option to eject a participant from a Hangout. You may use this feature for many reasons, such as making sure someone has left when talking about sensitive information, ejecting someone with bad signal to avoid intermittence, or to remove a disruptive member.

To remove a contact from within Hangouts, you can click on their name and a menu will appear. Here, you can select ‘Eject’, immediately removing the participant from the Hangout.

Google Apps Tips: Google Hangouts

For the ejected participant to rejoin the Hangout, they must have the invite link. If the ejected user is on the same domain as the Hangout, they are able to rejoin, and it is worth noting that only those on the same domain can eject a participant.
