19 Feb How to mute a conversation in Gmail
How to mute a conversation in Gmail: Conversation view can be a really convenient way of viewing your emails, but sometimes you can get caught up in an email thread that isn’t too relevant to you. By muting conversations, you can turn off notifications for these kind of threads, unless someone decides to email you direct and bring you back into the conversation.
To mute an email conversation in Gmail, you need to go inside the message thread, and click on the More button.
Select ‘Mute’ and your conversation will now be muted. You will no longer receive notifications for this email thread.
You will only now receive notifications for this thread if someone specifically adds you to the ‘To’ or ‘Cc’ lines, or if a new message is addressed only to you.
When you open up the conversation, you can then remove the Muted label if you change your preferences about receiving notifications.
