06 Aug Make a guests attendance optional in a Google Calendar event
Make a guests attendance optional in a Google Calendar event: This can be a handy tip when creating a Google Calendar event, for those participants you want to notify of the event but don’t particularly require their attendance at the time.
To set a guests attendance as optional, first you need to invite guests into your calendar event.
You will see that next to each guest, there is an avatar next to their name. You will also see the instruction above Guests that shows that to make a guests attendance optional, you need to click on the icon. I have selected which participants I would like to make optional, and you can now see that their avatar is no longer highlighted.
When I save my calendar event and send invitations, those marked as optional will see this in their invitation, as you can see below; there is a message stating “Your attendance is optional.”
