20 Aug Pin a contact to the top of Hangouts contacts view

Pin contacts to the top of Google Hangouts contacts view: Using this handy tip, you can make sure you can always find the people you talk to the most on Google Hangouts.

To pin a contact to the top of your Google Hangouts contacts list, you will first need to make sure you are on Hangouts Contacts view rather than Hangouts Conversations, as shown below.

You will notice when you scroll through your contacts list and hover over a contact, that you have a three dot menu beside their name.

Click the menu, and a handful of options will appear. You will notice the first option; Pin to top. Select this option.

Elliott will now be added to the top of my contacts with any other pinned contacts. These contacts will remain here and will always stay at the top of your list. These contacts are differentiated from other contacts by a line as shown below.

You can remove a contact from the top at any time by clicking back into the three dot menu and selecting ‘Unpin’.

We hope you found this tip useful! For more like this, visit our Google Apps Tips blog.
